The Maguey - Ethel Harris trademark

Our 2016 ornament depicts the Maguey that was the trademark used by Ethel Harris of San José Potteries. Harris was a dedicated preservationist and was "Park Manager" of Mission San José from 1938 to 1963.  Active in the San Antonio Conservation Society, she also operated a pottery and tile business at San José and employed local artisans to make her famous tiles that can be seen all over San Antonio.
